In the mid-'50s, young singer Elvis Presley caught the attention of fans and the media in the southern United States, mixing classic country sounds with black music and delivering a sensational stage show. With the help of the accomplished manager Colonel Parker, the new music becomes a trend and the local phenomenon becomes an international superstar. However, when Presley falls on deaf ears with his drive for artistic development at Parker, it comes to crisis between the partners. The ten years in the life of Elvis Presley between the first self-paid recording and drugged departure to Las Vegas as the subject of a well-played two-part film biography.
