Gabriel and Elias are two brothers who couldn't be more different: One of them teaches evolutionary psychology and philosophy at the university, the other is instead uninhibitedly occupied with nothing, doing nothing and masturbating. After the death of their father, they learn through a video left behind that he was not their biological father at all. Their biological father, who is now almost 100 years old, is said to be on the remote island of Ork. Arriving on the bizarre island, which is barely populated with about 40 inhabitants, more surprises await Gabriel and Elias: after first encountering the pragmatic mayor and his neurotic daughter Ellen, they meet her disturbed and handsy three half-brothers Franz, Josef and Gregor, who prefer to surround themselves with stuffed animals rather than people. Stranded in their real father's squalid estate, surrounded by rows of grotesque 'pets' and their animalistic new relatives, Gabriel and Elias get closer and closer to the true circumstances of their real origins...
